While condemning her minister's controversial remarks, Banerjee stated that what Akhil Giri said was wrong. The West Bengal CM said, "Beauty doesn’t lie in the looks of a person. I personally have respect for the president." Referring to the President, the west Bengal CM further added, "She is a very sweet person. We don’t make personal comments. He has already been warned. He has been asked not to speak like that. I apologise on behalf of him and the party."
