The JDS State President has now entered the debate, stating that if JDS is elected, the Tipu University will be built in Mysuru or Kolar. The JDS State President C.M. Ibrahim continued to criticise Siddaramaiah, the previous Congress chief minister of the state, for starting Tipu Jayanti without engaging those who would be impacted by it. CM Ibrahim also met with the local Muslim leaders. Mr. Ibrahim asserted that despite his advice, the former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah continued to observe Tipu Jayanti. “There is no statue culture in our religion,” said JDS C.M. Ibrahim. President of JD(S) State C.M. Ibrahim said that the play The Real Dreams of Tipu (Tipu Nijakanasugalu), written by Rangayana director Addanda C. Cariappa, features "distorted history" of Tipu Sultan and that a decision had been made to file a legal complaint against its presentation. On November 20, the play will be performed at Bhoomigeetha on the grounds of Rangayana.
