YouTube Description
as posted by the channelDevendra Fadnavis, the deputy chief minister, stated on Wednesday that, “Maharashtra will aggressive contest to get all the Karnataka Maharashtra border villages of Nipani, Caravar, Belgaum legally through Supreme Court.” On Tuesday, Karnataka Basavaraj Bommai said that panchayats in Maharashtra's Jat taluka had previously voted a resolution to join Karnataka due to a severe drought and acute drinking water shortage. His government has now developed programmes to assist them by giving water. “Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde recently held a meeting to draw a detail plan to resolve the border dispute,” said Maharashtra Deputy CM Fadnavis. He further stated that, "The state government is committed to amicably resolve the dispute and claims border villages. We will not compromise our stand". In the Sangli district's Miraj subdivision, which borders Karnataka, is Jath (or Jat). As a major portion of the population speaks Marathi in these areas, Maharashtra claims 814 bordering villages as well as Belgaum, Karwar, Nipani, and Bidar and seeks to incorporate them into the state. Given the recent developments, the long-running and frustrating Maharashtra-Karnataka boundary conflict appears to be headed for a flashpoint.
