Police from Mangaluru, Shivamogga, Mysuru, Coimbatore, and the central agencies are looking into the forward and backward connections of Mohammed Shariq, 24, from Soppugudde in Thirthahalli town of Shivamogga district, now that the identity of the suspect in the Mangaluru blast case has been established. Shariq was riding in an autorickshaw with a cooker bomb on Sunday when it exploded in Nagori, injuring both him and the driver. According to the preliminary inquiry, Arafath Ali, an accused in pro-terror graffiti charges, was Shariq's immediate handler, according to ADGP (law and order) Alok Kumar's statement on Monday.
