The Delhi government yesterday imposed a temporary ban on the plying of BS-III petrol and BS-IV diesel four-wheelers in the national capital till January 12. An AQI between 201 and 300 is considered "poor," 301 and 400 "very poor," and 401 and 500 "severe." The national capital's 24-hour average air quality index (AQI) stood at 434 on Monday, worsening from 371 on Sunday.
