Why do people live in metro cities? Most people would day for better facilities like roads, schools, and hospitals. Metro cities have become breeding grounds for killer civic apathy. The first two instances are from Bengaluru. On Monday, a four-year-old child died after being flung off her school bus and colliding with the vehicle's back wheels. In yet another incident in the Nagawara line of Bengaluru's outer ring road, two family members—a mother and her young son—were killed when an under-construction metro pillar collapsed. A few days back in Chennai, a 22-year-old techie lost control of her two-wheeler while attempting to dodge a pothole and was struck by a truck. We are joined by a few panelists for a detailed discussion on the issue. “These culprits, the negligent officers and contractors, will have to be punished or else we'll keep losing lives on the roads," says Manoj Wadhwa, Pothole Activist.
