4:52Now PlayingThe Enforcement Directorate (ED) will question BMC chief Iqbal Singh Chahal today, about the allegedly unauthorized awarding of contracts to Lifeline Hospital Management Services (LHMS) during the Covid-19 outbreak. The BMC hired the medical service provider to work in Jumbo Covid Centers, allegedly costing the BMC 38 crores in lost revenue. A senior EOW official confirmed on Friday that the Mumbai police's Economic Offences Wing (EOW) had also served similar notices on senior BMC executives. Based on the criminal case being investigated by the Mumbai police, the ED has launched a parallel investigation to look into possible money laundering in the awarding of contracts to LHMS.
