1:48Now PlayingThe Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has seized 17 kg of gold valued at 9.5 crore, 1.57 crore in cash, 3.33 crore in bank savings, and 47.75 lakh in mutual funds from the Odisha residence of a former railway officer who is accused of accumulating wealth that is out of proportion to his known source of income.
The agency said that between April 1, 2005, and March 31, 2020, when it conducted its investigation, the former Principal Chief Operation Manager was in possession of disproportionate assets totaling roughly 1.92 crore. Either under his name or the names of his family members were the tainted assets.
