8:23Now PlayingIn the Metro Pillar Collapse case, Bengaluru Police have asked the Indian Institute of Science (IISC) to put their probe on hold and have roped in experts from IIT Hyderabad to submit a detailed report regarding the incident. Prof. Chandra Kishen, IISC who is the in-charge of the probe pointed out that the supporting system had flaws and the site engineers appointed by contractors are accountable. He pointed out that this was the collapse of a reinforcement cage and it usually tends to bend due to increased height. Dr. Sudhir Krishna, Former Urban Development said that this is not an isolated incident and had happened before during Delhi Metro and Chennai Metro construction period. He suggested that alternative methods should be explored in dense areas instead of in-situ construction.
