According to the Students' Federation of India, over 70 students were detained at Jamia Millia Islamia to protest the detention of four activists over the proposed screening of a BBC documentary on Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The police did not respond immediately. A large number of police officers were stationed outside the campus where the students were gathered. At the gate, members of the Rapid Action Force were stationed. The Delhi Police detained four students on Wednesday after the left-wing Students' Federation of India (SFI) announced plans to screen a controversial BBC documentary on Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the Jamia Millia Islamia University campus.
