Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate has filed a plea in the Supreme Court demanding to ensure the election of Mayor in a time-bound manner. This has come after two MCD house session was adjourned without the Mayor elections being held due to clashes between the AAP and BJP councilors. Shelly Oberoi and Aaley Mohammad Iqbal are the Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) candidates for mayor and deputy mayor, respectively. Rekha Gupta will run for mayor, while Kamal Bagri, a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party, will serve as her deputy (BJP).
