3:28Now PlayingOn Thursday, the Border Security Force's elite canine squad took part in the Republic Day pounding retreat event at the Attari-Wagah border in Punjab's Amritsar. Two dogs made flawless salutes in front of hundreds of onlookers as BSF jawans were spotted escorting them. On Independence Day of last year, the BSF's canine squad took part in the beating retreat along the Attari-Wagah boundary. Unlike the previous year, when both a labrador and a Belgian shepherd were spotted at the event, both dogs this year seemed to be Belgian shepherds. An official retreat is held on Republic Day by the BSF and the Pakistani military. The "lowering of the flags ritual," a daily joint military drill that has been place since 1959, is another reason Attari-Wagah is well-known.
