15:18Now PlayingIn this episode of News 7 with Afrida Rehman Ali, the anchor will be discussing Mumbai’s air quality worst than Delhi. On Sunday, Mumbai's air quality showed no signs of improvement, with the city's overall Air Quality Index (AQI) falling below that of Delhi. Mumbai's AQI in the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecast and Research (SAFAR) dashboard on Sunday evening was 297, which falls in the 'poor' category — just three less than 'very poor'. Later, the reading in Mumbai fell to 256 before rising to 311 in Delhi. For the majority of last December, Mumbai's AQI levels fell from 'poor' to 'very poor,' a trend that has continued into January. This is the first time the city has experienced such a sustained period of 'poor' to 'very poor' AQI since SAFAR began tracking the AQI almost six years ago. The guest for this episode, Dr. Milind Kulkarni (Author) said, "We've to be careful about the control of the air pollutants at the source itself. We need efforts from the policy makers, technocrats".
