7:30Now PlayingOn Monday, Congress took to the streets to demand an investigation into the stock rout of Adani Group companies. Protests are being held across the country in front of Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) offices and State Bank of India (SBI) branches. In response to the NSUI-Youth Congress protests, security has been increased outside the SBI headquarters. The party is calling for a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) or Supreme Court-monitored investigation into allegations made against Adani Group by US short-seller Hindenburg Research. Meanwhile, Congress Members of Parliament demonstrated near the Gandhi statue in Parliament House. Both Houses were adjourned amid a commotion caused by opposition leaders. The government, according to opposition MPs, is not allowing the issue to be debated in Parliament. Protests were also held in Mumbai, Chennai, and Bengaluru.
