Sajna, a 60-year-old woman from Kakkode in Kozhikode, was receiving treatment at the hospital for a left leg injury she sustained more than a year ago. The procedure was carried out on Tuesday as per the doctor's recent recommendation. Shimna, Sajna's daughter, informed the reporters that when her mother awoke from the operation, she realised that although though the damage was on her left leg, the surgery had been done on her right leg. The doctor originally made an effort to explain that there was injury to the right leg as they were asking questions of him. Yet he eventually acknowledged the error.
