Sanjay's effigy was also burned by the demonstrators. The statement made by the BJP leader is a common Telugu expression that implies "if someone commits a crime, would you appreciate or punish," according to Bandi Sanjay's office in response. The statement added that the summons of the CM's daughter by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) were made in accordance with Delhi Excise policy and that this was a distraction strategy to incite discontent in the state.
