A message displayed on the Twitter handle said the account had been taken down "in response to a legal demand". On March 18, Punjab Police launched a massive crackdown on Waris Punjab De chief Amritpal Singh and nabbed hundreds of his aides. Punjab Police has said it has released 197 persons out of the 353 taken into preventive custody after state Chief Minister Bhagwat Mann asked the state police to release those taken into preventive custody if they were not found involved in any anti-national activity. Amid the crackdown Amritpal Singh fled to Nepal, as per the sources.
