1:36Now PlayingIn connection with the Maharashtra sugar mill case, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) is undertaking searches at numerous locations connected to a close associate and business partner of former minister and NCP leader Hasan Mushrif in Pune. A top NCP leader was called in for questioning earlier in March as part of a money laundering probe against him and others. In January, the ED also searched a number of locations connected to him. Additionally, some fresh inquiries were made in March in Kolhapur and other places. The investigation into alleged irregularities in the operations of a few sugar mills operating in the state that are tied to Mushrif, including the Sar Senapati Santaji Ghorpade Sugar Factory Ltd., to which his company Mushrif Sugar is a subsidiary, is connected to the money laundering case.
