India added 6,050 new cases in the previous day, bringing the total number of open cases to 28,303 on Friday morning. As there are currently almost three times as many cases per day as there were at the end of March (about 2,000), the states have been ordered to pinpoint emergency hotspots, intensify testing, and guarantee hospital infrastructure readiness. Furthermore present at the meeting was the Indian SARS-CoV-2 Genomics Consortium (INSACOG).
