Stalin, his counterpart in Tamil Nadu, in response to the latter's letter asking for collaboration in retaliating against the governors' actions by stalling bills that need their approval. "As you correctly noted, several states' currently elected administrations are dealing with this problem. The Governor of Kerala has also held certain laws that the State Legislature passed after careful consideration languishing for an excessively long time, some for more than a year" Vijayan stated. Stalin had urged Vijayan in a letter dated April 11 to see that Kerala passed a resolution similar to the one that Tamil Nadu's assembly had adopted on April 10 requesting the President and the Union government to "fix a time frame" for the Governors to grant assent to bills that were passed by the state assembly.
