There was a heated exchange of words between both parties after Siddaramaiah asked for help for Indians in Sudan and stated that the government is doing very little. On this, Jaishankar replied that he doesn't politicize this issue. The Indian Embassy in Sudan has warned Indian nationals to stay indoors and remain safe as Sudanese military and paramilitary forces continue fighting in the country. The Embassy has also reported that there have been incidents of looting in the area. There has been ongoing violence in the capital, Khartoum, and surrounding regions.
