27:53Now PlayingIn this episode of Beyond The Headline, the host Tamanna Inamdar will discuss how a honeytrap instance has been discovered in Pune, Maharashtra. Pradeep Kurulkar, the head of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) in Pune, was discovered to have been the victim of a honey trap. Pradeep Kurulkar has been detained by the Maharashtra ATS squad. This event has generated a lot of buzz. The ATS arrest's actions have made it evident that after being honeytrapped, vital material was given to Pakistani intelligence agents. When Pradeep Kurulkar was six months away from retiring, he fell into the honeytrap. It has been discovered that he maintained phone contact with a lady connected to Pakistan's intelligence service for the previous six months. Pradeep Kurulkar was under the surveillance of the vigilance and intelligence unit of DRDO for a number of months. Scientists from the DRDO spoke with agents of the Pakistani intelligence service via WhatsApp messaging, voice conversations, movies, etc. The DRDO officer misused his authority, revealing confidential government information that may endanger India's security if it ended up in the hands of an adversary nation. A few panelists join us to express their views on this issue. “In the case of honey trapping, a person is often blackmailed & threatened. So he goes on to share more information with spy agencies,” stated Dr. V N Jha, Former Jt. Director, DRDO.
