YouTube Description
as posted by the channelIn this episode of The Urban Debate, the host Shreya Dhoundial will discuss how on Tuesday, the Kerala High Court sprung into action and filed a PIL on its own to investigate the rule breach that resulted in the capsized boat disaster in Tanur, while the state police brought murder charges against the owner of the boat.
On Sunday, a houseboat carrying over 30 passengers capsized and drowned near the Tuvalthiram beach in the Tanur region of the Malappuram district, killing 22 people, including women and children. The Kerala government tightened the investigation into the disaster after coming under fire from a number of sources, including the opposition, by charging the boat owner with murder. A few panelists will be expressing their views on this issue. “Kerala Boat Tragedy and court's response should be seen as a warning to civic authorities,” stated Dilip Cherian, Founder Perfect Relation.
