The polling for the 224 Karnataka assembly elections took place on May 19. Over 73 percent of voters turned out this time. The state witnessed a fierce contest between arch-rivals the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress. The Janata Dal-Secular (JDS) will likely play a key role in the government's formation.

"The next government should focus on spreading the growing ecosystem around technology beyond Bengaluru", says Nruthya Madappa.
