Later, he was freed after being granted a two-week bail by an Islamabad court. In the case involving the alleged receipt of financial assistance from a land developer in the establishment of Al Qadir University, of which the former premier and his wife are trustees, Bushra Bibi was named as a co-accused alongside Khan. Khan, who went to the Lahore High Court with his wife, had earlier on Monday voiced concern that his wife would be detained by the government as part of what he claims is a campaign against him.
