The Supreme Court upholds Tamil Nadu amendments to the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act. The Court has added this game to traditions rather than cruelty. Court also mentioned that this game is part of Indian tradition. The court declared this game a cultural heritage in all three states. Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu D.M.K. Stalin tweeted, "It is worth writing in golden letters in the history of Tamil Nadu that the Constitution Bench of the Supreme Court has ruled that Jallikattu, a sport that expresses the bravery and culture of Tamil Nadu, is not prohibited!"
