8:50Now PlayingToday, Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah held a Congress cabinet meeting over Congress poll promises.
"We have discussed all the five guarantees promised. In the meeting, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah says: We'll make sure that we deliver these guarantees irrespective of caste or religion by the end of this year." The five guarantees promised are:
1.200 units of free power to all households (Gruha Jyoti)
2. Rs 2,000 monthly assistance to the woman head of every family (Gruha Lakshmi),
3.10 kg of rice is free to every member of a BPL household (Anna Bhagya).
4. Rs 3,000 every month for unemployed graduate youth and Rs 1,500 for unemployed diploma holders (both in the age group of 18–25) for two years (Yuva Nidhi).
5. Free travel for women in public transport buses (Shakti)
