1. In one of the deadliest train accidents in recent times, over 260 people have lost their lives and further 900 suffered injuries after three trains collision in Odisha's Balasore. Rescue operations have concluded.
2. A preliminary probe suggest cause of crash yet to be determined. Officials say the Coromandel Express which was running at full-speed crashed into a standing goods train. Few of the derail coaches hit the incoming Bangalore-Howrah train.
3. Prime Minister Modi reviews operations at the train crash site, gets briefed by union minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and Dharmendra Pradhan. Directs authorities to provide help to the family of victims.
4. West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee reaches the train collision site, announces Rs. 5 lakh compensation for the next of the kin of the deceased. 'Tragedy could have been averted if train had anti-collision device," stated Mamata Banerjee.
5. After the train mishap in Odisha. Railway minister Ashwini Vaishnaw takes stock of the situation at the accident spot in Balasore, orders a high-level probe.
