An 18-year-old girl was brutally raped and killed in the Savitribai Phule Women's Hostel, a state-run facility located next to the Police Gymkhana on Marine Drive, in a highly sad occurrence. The victim was from Akola and was studying in a college in Bandra. She was also doing a part-time job. Victims father has questioned the hostel staff over security as his daughter was staying alone on the entire fourth floor. Accidentally, the suspect a hostel staffer initial went missing was lately found dead on railway tracks. As per the cops he killed himself by jumping in front of a train.
