Earlier this month, Karnataka govt under the administration of Congress hiked tariff by Rs 3 per unit - beyond the free electricity consumption of 200 units. Thousands of people were shocked by a significant increase in the monthly electricity bills that were sent out by several Electricity Supply Companies (Escoms) around Karnataka. The "fixed charges" in the power bills produced by the Escoms for the month of June experienced a significant increase, ranging from Rs 50 to Rs 75, depending on the consumption load. Watch!
