1:14Now PlayingThe Karnataka Congress Government before coming into power had announced the Anna Bhagya scheme of supplying 5 kgs of rice monthly to the poor families from 1st of July. However, it is behind schedule for obtaining the required 2.29 lakh metric tonnes of rice to implement the scheme. The Food Corporation of India has ruled out the request according to CM Siddaramaiah’s government. They are now negotiating with private agencies like the Kendriya Bandar, National Consumers Co-operative Federation, and the National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation for meeting the requirement to implement the scheme. Karnataka Congress President Satish Jarkiholi said “We are trying to obtain rice from various sources.
