Sakshi Ahuja was trying to avoid stepping into the waterlogged streets when she came in contact with a loose live wire. Barely 48 hours later there is news of another young person in the capital losing his life in exactly the same way. Sohail, a 17-year-old died after getting an electric shock in Delhi’s Taimoor Nagar. When authorities got to the site, they saw that the roadway was flooded due to significant rains. Police officers who rushed to the scene verified that the deadly accident was caused by pooled water that had turned into a conductor of electricity. Authorities are still looking into the specifics surrounding the source of the electric current as they try to identify what caused such a devastating event. We are joined by a few panelists expressing their views on this issue. “There's no strong system of organisational accountability for such accidents,” stated Advocate Aditya Pratap.
