2:42Now PlayingBreaking News: Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Uddhav Thackeray and his ally, MP Sanjay Raut, were served summonses by a magistrate court in Mumbai for allegedly defaming MP Rahul Shewale. Rahul Shewale, an MP and former friend of the two accused, filed the complaint, alleging that a piece in the Shiv Sena mouth-piece "Saamana" included false statements against him. The article, which was released on December 29, 2022, in Hindi and Marathi, claimed that Shewale had property holdings in Karachi and Dubai. On January 3, 2023, Shewale's attorney Chitra Salunkhe submitted a notice requesting information regarding the source of the allegations. Salunkhe then filed a criminal defamation charge with the magistrate court and started a defamation action for Rs 100 crore in the Bombay High Court in response to this response.
