On Thursday, a Virgin Galactic instructor, the spacecraft's two pilots, and two Italian air force officers are expected to fly around 80 kilometres (50 miles) over the New Mexico desert. They will be joined by an Italian aerospace engineer from the National Research Council and two Italian air force officers. The Galactic 01 voyage, which will last 90 minutes, will take place two years after the company's VSS Unity rocket plane's first fully crewed test spaceflight.
