Maharashtra Speaker Exclusive On Political Crisis, Says 'NCP A Single Unit For Me Currently'

The decision of Maharashtra Politics now lies in the hands of its Speaker. Maharashtra Assembly Speaker, Rahul Narvekar spoke exclusively to Times Network and said that “The NCP is currently a single unit for me. I am following all the guidelines and regulations that I have to follow as the Speaker of the House.” After Ajit Pawar’s oath as The Deputy CM, there has been great turmoil in the politics of Maharashtra. It is yet to be confirmed regarding the portfolios to be assigned to the 9 NCP MLAs including Ajit Pawar who rebelled to join the Shinde-Fadnavis Government. Ajit Pawar needs the support of 36 NCP MLAs to escape the anti-defection law. Meanwhile, the Uddhav Thackeray Faction have chaired a meeting at his residence Matoshree including the Party Leaders, MPs, and MLAs to decide the future course of action. On the other hand, The Congress in Maharashtra have also concluded with their meeting and the issue of selecting the opposition leader may have been brought up. New concerns have been raised over whether the MLAs and MPs of the Shinde Camp can recontest the election. Also, Pawar loyalists have signed affidavits swearing loyalty to Sharad Pawar.
