1:12Now PlayingTwo months after the new government was sworn in in Karnataka, the Anna bhagya scheme, a key poll promised by the Congress, will finally be rolled out today. The scheme, which was announced during the elections, aims to provide an additional five kilogrammes of rights to every member of a BPL household. Karnataka food and civil supplies minister K. H. Muniyappa told the chief minister that Siddharamaiah will launch the direct benefit transfer (DBT), adding that the entire money will be transferred into the accounts of all beneficiaries within 15 days. The transfer will be officially launched by the chief minister at around 5 p.m. today, as about 4.4 crore cardholders will be rationed out of the benefits of the scheme.
