The total dengue cases in July 2023 reached 243, the highest in six years. The increase in cases followed extensive flooding and waterlogging in the city. The Delhi government has taken measures to address the situation, including a vector-borne disease control action plan and raising awareness through helplines and ASHA workers. Additionally, fines for mosquito breeding have been increased to Rs 1,000 for residential areas and Rs 5,000 for commercial establishments. Hospitals are prepared for further cases, as stated by Delhi Health Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj. CM Arvind Kejriwal has also reviewed the dengue preparedness in the capital.
