5:03Now PlayingBreaking News: Within a 24-hour period, the government-run Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Memorial (CSMM) Hospital in Thane's Kalwa reported the deaths of 18 patients who had been admitted. The tragedy occurred shortly after political and public outcry following the five patient deaths that occurred on August 10 in a single day. Six of the patients were referred to the hospital by Kalyan, and another six came from Thane city. A high-level committee has been formed by the state administration to look into the occurrence. Within 24 hours of being admitted to the hospital, six of the patients passed away. The hospital management has refuted the allegations of hospital staff negligence made by the sufferers' relatives. Activists have asserted that the facility is understaffed.
