The Supreme Court has now agreed to establish a panel for the purpose of addressing the issue after the Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin’s side presented the matter to the highest court, requesting updated instructions to the government of Karnataka, led by K’taka CM Siddaramaiah, to promptly release 24,000 cubic feet per second (cusecs) of water daily for Tamil Nadu. On Sunday, Karnataka's Dy CM Minister DK Shivakumar announced that the state administration has scheduled a gathering involving all political parties on August 23 to discuss water disputes. Tugging in, Karnataka BJP and Basavraj Bommai said that Congress must take a strong stand for the state’s farmer's betterment.
