A number of petitions challenging the government's confiscation of automobiles for breaking the law—orders prohibiting the use of petrol and diesel vehicles older than 15 and 10 years old, respectively—were being heard by Justice Prateek Jalan. When owners are prepared to guarantee that their cars won't be utilised here and give "due publicity" to the same, the court ordered the Delhi government to develop a strategy on how to handle the automobiles.
