The court stayed his three-year prison sentence and conviction in the Toshakhana case, which included state gifts. The court also granted bail and ordered his release from the Attock prison, where he had been detained since August 5. The ruling came after Imran Khan filed an appeal against his sentence and conviction. The Election Commission of Pakistan launched the Toshakhana case, accusing Imran Khan of concealing information about state gifts he received from foreign dignitaries during his stint as Prime Minister. Former President Asif Ali Zardari and former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif were also named in the case.
