Baghel alleged that the centre has suddenly reduced the rice quota from 86 lakh metric tonnes to 61 lakh metric ns. The chief minister has also written to the Union Food Minister, asking him to reconsider the reduced procurement. Baghel said that whether or not they send a bias to the rice, they won't let the state's farmers suffer as they will buy 20 quintals per acre from the farmers to soften the impact.
