It all started when Union Home Minister Amit Shah claimed that Hindi unites diversity in India and honours different as well as global languages. The Home Minister also went on to say that Hindi also helps unite the country. "India has always been a nation of many different languages. The greatest democracy in the world's multiplicity of languages is united by Hindi. The democratic language of Hindi It has honoured several worldwide languages as well as various Indian languages and dialects, adopting their vocabulary, syntax, and grammar," said Amit Shah.
We are joined by a few panellists. "If someone is giving Hindi a 'unifying language' tag, it means a violation of the Constitution," said Puhazh Gandhi.
