In a counterstatement, Petal Gahlot, the First Secretary at the United Nations representing the Second Committee of UNGA, asserted that Pakistan ought to relinquish the territories it occupies within India and cease all instances of cross-border terrorism "We reiterate that the union territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh are an integral part of India. Matters pertaining to the UTS of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh are purely internal to India," Petal Gahlot said.
