3:51Now PlayingThe Delhi government is set to launch a new policy for owners of overaged vehicles that have been confiscated by the transport department. The policy will mandate the owners to have a private parking space before they can reclaim their vehicles. The policy aims to prevent vehicles from being parked or driven in public spaces in Delhi, which can create pollution and traffic problems. The transport department had seized around 15,000 overaged vehicles as part of an initiative to curb pollution and promote scrapping. The owners were given compensation as per the rates fixed by the Union steel ministry. However, some of the owners had approached the court, which had directed the department to release the vehicles not scrapped yet after framing a policy. Watch the video to learn more about the policy and the consequences for the owners of overaged vehicles.
