Section 144 has been imposed in various parts of the district in the wake of the violence. Disputes during a religious procession escalated into clashes between two communities. Miscreants incited the violence after rumours circulated about stone pelting during the procession. Angry mobs hurled stones, damaging houses and vehicles and injuring people. Full story here.
