The Nithari killings were one of the most shocking and gruesome crimes in India’s history. Between 2005 and 2006, at least 19 women and children were abducted, raped, killed, and dismembered by Surinder Koli and Moninder Singh Pandher in their house in Noida. The police discovered human remains in a drain near their house and arrested the duo. They were charged with murder, abduction, rape, destruction of evidence, and trafficking. They were sentenced to death by a special CBI court in several cases. However, in a surprising twist, the Allahabad High Court recently acquitted them in 14 cases due to lack of evidence.
