Sisodia was detained earlier this year in connection with instances involving the excise policy that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and Enforcement Directorate (ED) are looking into. On Monday, October 16, the Supreme Court criticised the CBI and ED, ruling that they were not allowed to hold Sisodia in custody for a "indefinite period" due to the excise policy issues.
