In this episode of The Urban Debate, anchor Shreya Dhoundial will be discussing how the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has appointed a committee to advise replacing "India" with "Bharat" in all school textbooks and to teach "classical history" rather than "ancient history" in order to update the country's historical narrative. We are joined by a few panelists. "Constitution validates the usage of 'Bharat'. The name refers to our heritage and culture. It's high time we go back to our roots," said Vineeta Hariharan. "There should be no India vs. Bharat debate. It should be India, also known as Bharat. By ignoring history, we're doing a disservice to our nation," said Lavanya Ballal Jain. Watch In!
