1:26Now PlayingTension flared in Phagwara this morning when the Phagwara police, under the command of DSP Jaspreet Singh, resorted to a mild lathi-charge against workers from Jagatjit Cotton Textile Mills (JCT). The workers were conducting an indefinite dharna near the JCT gate, as mandated by the high court's directives. The demonstrators resisted the orders and attempted to breach the police barricades. During the confrontation between the police and the protesters, six women demonstrators sustained injuries and were subsequently hospitalized.
